Hey guys, I am doing an overnight Rubicon run with some of the crawlers from the NorCal 4×4 facebook page. Plan below:
Meet at Loon Lake at 9am, Tuesday July 3. Wheel in to either Buck or Springs depending on pace and crowds. Out Caddy on July 4th (this might change, because going through tahoe on the 4th of july is terrible, but so would going against the flow of traffic back to loon lake).
It is guaranteed to be slow pace, with plenty of entertainment if you like people watching. It will be busy on the trail. Be mentally prepared lol
Club requirements plus 35’s and 1 locker and a winch.
Me and a couple of buddies (Jimmy from SnailTrail4x4 and Brenan from Trail4R.com) are gonna go play around on Fordyce Sunday July 15. All are welcome.
Will definitely be going in to Eagle Lake, and then probably on to the first crossing. Might come back out and go up signal peak after, then down the back side and check out Fordyce lake and the dam.
Meet at Cisco Grove Subway @ 9AM on Sunday the 15th of July.
35s and 1 locker, recovery rated tow points. If you want to drive in to Eagle Lake, then catch a ride to the first crossing, then you can do it with 33s and 1 locker, or 35s and limited slips.

This run will be in to Barrett Lake for a weekend of camping/hiking/etc.
35s, 1 locker, winch, recovery points. 85″ total width or less.
This is going to be an interesting trip, as I will lead a group in on Friday morning, and then come back out by myself Friday evening. The group that stays up there on Friday will reserve campsites for the rest of the group coming in on Saturday. Friday morning group will meet at the Chevron in Fresh Pond at 8am.
We will need someone to “take charge” leading those in on Saturday that want to come in Saturday.
We will also need someone to “take charge” for coming out on Sunday.
Both, should, preferably, have experience on this trail if possible (not necessary though).
While at Barrett Lake on Saturday (or sunday too), there are 3 geocaches, and a great plane crash to check out. The plane crash is roughly a 2mile hike from the campsites.
What you need to do:
– Say if you are going on Friday or Saturday.
– If you can lead the group OUT on Sunday.
– If you are going in Saturday, can you lead the group IN?
The trail GPS tracks are in the link below, so there is no way you should get lost… just need someone willing to take charge on spotting people through the 3 difficult sections on Saturday and Sunday. I will take care of getting everyone through on Friday.
Is that complicated enough? lol
