I get a phone call Monday night from my father in-law. Starts out, The kids are alright but.... Back story, my kids went to my brother in-laws for New Years and to stay for a few days. Continuing with the story. He begins to tell me that my brother in-law, his wife, kids and my kids went up to Mt Shasta to go sliding. Well they go off the road in there Yukon and get it stuck on the frame in the ditch in the snow. There on some not traveled road about 10 miles outside of town. I guess they were stranded for hours and into the night before they were able to get a hold of the CHP. The CHP drove up as far as he could and took them back to town. So the next morning my brother in-law tries to get a tow truck to go pull him out. The tow truck driver gets stuck and can't make it to him. He tells him he is going to have to wait until sprint to get his vehicle. So I get the phone call to see if I can take the jeep up there and get him out. So on Tuesday I head up to Shasta, I get there after dark so we decided to wait until morning to head up and try to get it out. Next morning we head up and I can't believe that he actually went up this road. It was comparable to sly park when theres a bunch of snow on it, but not traveled. I air down and head up to the Yukon. First couple of tugs didn't budge it, tried running starts still didn't move and I'm starting to dig my jeep in. So we break out the shovels and get to digging we put a bunch of tree branches down under the tires and I proceed to pull him out. All my Posse training from the snow runs that we do paid off 🙂 Needless to say my brother in-law was very happy and thankful. All I can say is good thing there was cell coverage because it could have turned out bad.
