I put the doors on today. Still waiting for the replacement mirrors to be street legal. I also ordered Bestop cart so I can safely store the hard top and full doors. Following is my review of the doors...
First impressions were great. The doors looked good and they were so light, about a quarter of the weight of my full doors. I put the passenger side doors on first and I was very impressed with the fit and finish. They hardly rattle at all and they closed easy and felt tight.
But then... I put on the drivers door and the locking mechanism rattles like crazy where the rod hooks into the door handle. I'll have to figure out how to tighten it up and get rid of that rattle.
Then I put on the rear passenger door and the first thing I noticed was the door hinge bolts were not lined up straight. I loosened the hinges and got it on without much issue. That door fits SO TIGHT that I have to slam the door shut and jerk it open. I will have to mess with the hinges to see if I can get it to fit better.
So, two issues to resolve, the front door rattle and the rear door fit. It sure is a lot more fun driving with half doors, and without all that extra weight it made a huge difference in the way it drives and handles. I can't wait to get that heavy hard top off of there too, it's going to drive like a sports car instead of a tank.
I used to wheel a lot. . .

For the rattle, how is the rod connected? Would you be able to drill the hole slightly larger and use a plastic lock rod clip?

Nice find. I might have to try that. I put a little bend in the rod and it took out most of the rattle.
As far as the tight fitting door; I adjusted the hinges as much as I could but ended up having to trim some plastic away from the opening for the styker to clear. Now all seems good, but I might have to get one of those clips and experiment with it.
