Hey guys, I found you online and if possible would like to meet tomorrow for the Strawberry Pass Cleanup.
Quick background: I currently live in Folsom, just moved back from spending seven years in San Diego... went down for college and decided to stay a while for work. My girlfriend (Meghan) and I recently moved back to Foslom. We both enjoy the outdoors , skiing, shooting, great food and we love our Jeep!
Hope to catch you on the trail.
Best, Tom

Aww John, going over to the 88 is so much fun! 😛
What was the trail condition like? Lots of trees compared to last spring? Sounds like the snow is worse then last spring since not making it to the overlook.
Was the sign at the trailhead still there from the Forest Service?
(Lost lady I mentioned earlier was found on the other side of 50 in the Strawberry area and unfortunately deceased).
Good to see everybody got out and Bill is the only reported one with a bruise. lol

Hey Carl. Any details on the unfortunate girl? I was airing up and saw life flight leave the meadow.

@David -- Thanks for the pictures. Great to see the rigs making it happen, especially the Toyota FJ40. Were you happy with the Sammy? So happy you tried to convince a rock of something with the bumper? 😀
@Brad -- The incident I'm referring to was closed Friday evening. I think what you saw is possibly unrelated since you saw Saturday, also I wouldn't think Life Flight would come for a deceased person. That is a guess on my part. A coroner was on site Friday evening. Only other details (via 2nd hand) was she was early 60s, had been previously picked up by CHP on 4/26, some degree of mental condition, car was found 5/6, and SAR call was put out Friday AM 5/10. Unsure of the details b/t 5/6 and 5/10. The location of discovery was on the north side of 50 and found a few hundred yards from her vehicle. That's all I have. Very 🙁

Yes I am VERY happy with the conversions that I have done. The transfer gears are so cool, & slow. The YJ springs worked good. The rock hit was to "test" the front bumper. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.....
I will look at maybe 1 1/2" wheel spacers to move the tires out a bit. I had a little tire rub in the front when I was turned hard and went across a gully. Also John said it will make my rig a bit more stable with the wider stance. Question for group? How do you all feel about wheel spacers? hard on wheel bearings /tire rims? Just put spacers in front if the rear is OK?
The next "major" mod will be to put in the lockers. I could of used them for the one section where we moved the rock out of the by-pass aera. I think it was called the waterfall?
If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

I ran wheel spacers with 37s for 12 years on my yellow TJ without any issues. I've run them on my JKU with 37s and 38s for over five years now. No problems. However both my jeeps ended up with modified axles. And, both my jeeps ran stock motors. I'm not sure what an extra 200 hp (and 200 ft/lbs of torque) might do to the setup.
