DESCRIPTION:Run location and date: Slick Rock Saturday October 11th and Deer Valley Sunday October 12th. \nFormat: This will be a one night trip\, or you can run either of the two trails and make a day trip out of it. \nSlick Rock Saturday October 11th If you are heading up on Saturday\, meet at the McDonalds in Angles Camp (33 N Main St\, Angels Camp) at 8:00 a.m. and plan to leave by 8:30 a.m. Top off gas in Arnold. We will run Slick Rock from south to north and then head to Hermit Valley Campground and camp their Saturday night. \nDeer Valley Sunday October 12th we will plan to start the run at 9:00 a.m. If you plan to run Deer Valley only\, then please be at Hermit Valley Campground no later than 9 a.m. or come up Saturday and camp with our group the night before. Deer Valley trailhead is accessed through and begins at Hermit Valley campground. Here is a link for Hermit Valley Campground on Hwy 4: https://www.fs.usda.gov/recare…..ecid=14847 \nThis run is open to members and non-members provided they meet the usual club minimum standards and ideally 35″ or greater tires and one locker. If you aren’t sure\, please ask. If you are running both trails\, please be sure you have sufficient fuel. You may need to bring extra fuel depending on your rig. I believe there is gas at Kirkwood but it’s probably best to bring it.

DESCRIPTION:When: Saturday \, May 30\, 2026 \nStart: Meet at Georgetown 7:30 a.m. \nMeet: Worton’s Market (6274 Main St\, Georgetown\, CA 95634) \nDepart for trail at 8:00 a.m. \nCome early if you need to fill up on gas or stock up on food. Worton’s Market opens at 6 a.m. and makes excellent breakfast sandwiches. Try one and support Georgetown. \nGoal be on the trail at 10:00 a.m. Be off the trail by 3:00 p.m. \nWhere = Hell Hole Reservoir \nThis run is not recommended for stock rigs. Basic club vehicle requirements apply. In addition suspension lift is recommended. Minimum 33 inch tires and a winch are required. Please remember to bring your radios for communication. \nWill limit the group to 10 rigs. \nThis trail has a couple challenging sections. A winch can come in handy. Not having a winch can cause others to have to pull vehicles out or over obstacles which can double the time it takes to run this trail. Please be respectful of others and sit this run out if you don’t have a winch. \nWe will have to help each other out as we go over obstacles. Participants should be willing to help others and to help spot vehicles over large obstacles. A positive and friendly attitude is required.

SUMMARY:Rubicon Overnight Trail Run - 2026
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: We need 2 leaders to lead this run.  One who is willing to lead the Friday group and someone to run the Saturday group.  I will be attending this run and planning to camp both nights. \nRubicon Camping Run – Friday\, Saturday & Sunday (June 19\, 20 & 21) \nThe plan is to do a 3 day trip June 19-21\, 2026 (Friday – Sunday). Meeting at Loon Lake \nGROUP 1: Will meet at 8:30am at Loon Lake just on the other side of the damn where we will air down and have a driver meeting.  We will roll out at 9:00am. Day one would end at Buck Island where we would set up camp for the weekend.  Day 2 can start with a run back to the RTF loop for those who want\, then return back to Buck. Day 3 we will pack up and roll out stopping at the springs for some pictures and head out Cadillac hill.  We can decide then if we want to have lunch at the springs or go to Burger Lounge. \nGROUP 2: Will meet at 8:30am at Loon Lake just on the other side of the damn where they will air down and have a driver meeting.  They will roll out at 9:00am. SUMMARY:Bear Valley Loop (Sierra Trek Pre-Run) & Overnight Camping - 2026
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: We don’t have a leader for this run but maybe we can talk Jeff into running it? \nBear Valley Loop Trail is our Sierra Trek pre-run: This is a club run open to anybody with a stock\, high clearance 4X4. This will be a pre-run for the Sierra Trek Outer Limits run that our club is leading two weeks later in August. The purpose of the run is to evaluate trail conditions and do planning and any necessary trail maintenance in preparation for the Outer Limits Run. Typically we have done some minor pruning and we mark the trail with flagging for the Outer Limits Run. Please bring the usual trail maintenance tools such as saws\, lopper\, shovels\, etc. Trimming brush typically the main need. \nThe Bear Valley Loop Trail is rated as an easy trail. It is a combination of dirt roads\, dirt trails and rock trails. All of the winch hills have easy bypasses for those who want to avoid the winch hills. The staging area for the trail is located about 20 minutes north of Truckee on Hwy 89. The trail tends to be dusty and does have some brushy areas that may need to be trimmed back. Mild cowboy pinstriping can occur. \nRun details: \nGroup 1: Arrive anytime on Friday\, July 24\, 2026 at Bear Valley Campground (Windmill Rd\, Loyalton\, CA 96118).  I believe reservations for camping can be made online. \nGroup 2: Meet at Bear valley Campground at 9:00am. We will have a drivers meeting and leave camp by 9:30am. We should be off the trail mid to late afternoon depending on how much maintenance is needed. Ideally there will be some time to play on the winch hills. This is an opportunity for anyone who needs to do their member BBQ in order to become a full member.
