My plan is to get it up and running next month to get a few runs in and use it for hunting season.
Good plan.

I am going to cut most of it out. I will leave just enough to weld the flares on the inside to the corners...

Just ordered my ARB, reverse cut thick gears, master install kit, and yoke from AllJeep.com....$1130.00 for all shipped to my door. I will pick up the rest of the parts to complete the axle on Monday when I get back in town 😀

I am estimating that the final cost for building this axle is going to be around $4700.00...That doesn't include what I will spend for DOM tubing, weld bungs, and joints to build my trackbar, tierod, and drag link. That will be another $300 to $500.

I would still build it myself. I enjoy the work, it isn't all that hard, u just have to be comfortable welding your own stuff which I am now. You know exactly how everything will fit before you make your final welds. You know exactly what parts went into the axle, no taking someones word on what they put in it! And it cost me aprox. $3500 less than having someone else do it!!!!!
"JohnDF" wrote: So, if you had to do it all over again...would you have one built?
I think it's 8) that you are doing a lot of the work yourself, but do you think it's worth the effort?

I now have all the parts sitting in my Jeep for the front axle. My axle shafts will be here tomorrow or Thurs. John is coming over next Monday and we will start fitting the axle under the Jeep. The axle is going out today for the gear and ARB install.

I can't pick up my axle tomorrow because I'm here at work. I will have to pick it up Monday morning, unless you John wants to drive up to Forest hill tomorow afternoon and pick it up for me so we can get an early start Monday morning 🙂
