    Hey Jeff,

This is what I ordered when I replaced my clutch.  The 901 is the heavy duty clutch.

The LuK kit does come with a Pilot Bearing but I bought a Timken bearing just in case but I never used it.

This is for the AX15 transmission.  I think you have an NV3550 but Summit says the same part numbers fit.

As always check with Kris as he knows a lot about this stuff.

    Jeff,

This is a good list, I would add clutch fork pivot ball and take a look at the slave cylinder and make sure there are no leaks (it’s an easy time to change it if you need or want to) . Feel free to text or call me if you want, and we can figure out a time to knock it out. 916-223-2316

Clutch parts are ordered. Thanks John for the parts list and Jason for verifying it and for the future assistance in replacing the clutch. Looks like I should be able to make the Barrett Lake run!

Today (Tuesday) Jason, John and I did the disassembly on my clutch job. I was more of a spectator but I did get my hands dirty and tried to help as much as possible. These guys know their stuff!!!! All of the parts are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. We are tentatively planning to put it back together on Friday.

It would be nice if we could get a few members to attend so that Jason and Stacy can satisfy their member BBQ at this event. You are welcome to go for a swim and or just hang out for a while so they can satisfy their member BBQ. Once Jason confirms his availability for Friday he or I will post up the time and location. Jason and Stacey worked their tails off at Sierra Trek so it would be nice to support them with enough members at this build/service party to satisfy their member BBQ requirements. Stay tuned for details. 🎉

Yes, heated pool and spa, and kids are welcome provided they are supervised by a parent, if on the younger side (I know you wouldn't leave your young kids unsupervised but just wanted to make it clear in case others come). Pool has been running about 85 degrees in the mid to late afternoon (solar heater).

I think you just need 1 more rig/member to show up so it counts as an event.

What time is the work being done friday?  I'm getting some work done on the Bronco - and maybe could swing in for 20 mins to make it official?

Jason and Stace would like to do their member BBQ tomorrow, Friday September 1st at my house while we are working on replacing my Jeep's clutch. Please post up here if you can make it and indicate what time you plan to arrive. Here are the details:

    Date: 9/1/23

Time: We will be working on the Jeep starting around noon and into the late afternoon or evening. I'm having a transmission mount delivered to my home tomorrow so our progress might be influenced by what time the part gets here. If you want to stop by, feel free to come by anytime after noon. We will plan on the BBQ portion between 5 and 7:30 pm or so, depending on what time people can get here. Jason and Stace will be BBQ'ing hotdogs and hamburgers and will bring the fixing and potato salad. I will have some drinks (soda, beer, etc.) and a party size bag of Doritos Nacho chips. If you want to bring something please indicate what food or drink you are bringing.

    Kids are welcome.

Activities: The swimming pool/spa will be open. Please be advised that if you have children that need supervision in the fenced pool area, it is your responsibility to watch them unless someone here agrees to do it for you. Our pool is very large and can accommodate a lot of people.

Location: Jeff and Kathy's home at (address removed after for privacy purposes).

Parking: We share a long, common driveway with two other homes. Our address is well marked. When you park try to make room for other vehicles. I would recommend that you back in in case it is dark when you leave as the driveway and parking area is kind of tricky. I have a gated, gravel driveway that runs through the back of our property that I can open up if we need extra parking space.

I realize it is short notice but it is a Friday so I hope we can get enough members to come so Jason and Stace and complete their member BBQ.

Hope to see you tomorrow. You might want to bring a folding chair. Feel free to call me if you have any questions (phone number removed after for privacy purposes).

Well I should hope so, who else is going to keep track of where all those bolts go.  I thought Jeff was going to bag and label them neatly but that didnt happen. 😉

Looking forward to having more fun with the jeep!

Just count the holes we find and hopefully we have that many bolts.  Easy Peasy.😀

Let me check in with my wife, but I will attempt to stop by and utilize the pool and spa and see if I can help remove any excess water Jeff may have. I can also assist in lifting any heavy items into place as delicate fingers place the bolts.

    Um...what?

Hmm.....i may have said that, it will be like a puzzle that you aren't sure all the pieces are in the box till you are done!

Huge thank you to John and Jason for helping me get my clutch replaced. Technically it was the other way around, me helping them get my clutch replaced, but mission accomplished either way you look at it. We spent about five hours trying to get one bolt back in due to an odd situation. A bracket got wedged between the dust plate and the bellhousing but we didn't know that was what was blocking the bolt hole because it was towards the top of the bellhousing in a hard to see and reach place. We tried drilling out the obstruction thinking that the aluminum dust plate got bent and that that was what was partially obstructing the hole for the bolt. We didn't want to take everything back apart so we kept working on trying to clear the obstruction in the bolt hole. We finally decide that our only option was to take it all apart but Jason suggested we loosen it up as much as possible without taking it apart and that's when we discovered the bracket had gotten wedged between the dust cover and the bell housing, blocking the bolt. Thankfully we all had a sense of humor about it and we got the problem fixed and finished up the job late in the early evening on Saturday (no, there was no beer involved, just a case of bad luck). We need to make a YouTube video about that problem.

I also want to thank Greg and Kevin for coming by on Friday for Jason's member BBQ. Things didn't quite go as planned. We started the project on Tuesday evening and got everything taken apart. One of the parts was scheduled to be delivered to my home on Friday, so the plan was to finish the job on Friday and then do Stace and Jason's member BBQ. Unfortunately they had a pet emergency and spent Friday at the vet clinic. As a result, they weren't able to do their member BBQ. Fortunately their dog will be okay. John and I got a good start on Friday and thanks to John's knowledge, experience and his friend Google, we got the new clutch in on Friday. After very limited sleep Jason came back on Saturday to help put everything else back together. Everything went really well until the five hour bolt delay! Such is life. Needless to say, I was impressed with how patient John and Jason were. I told them that if I was working by myself, I would be in the house bitching to my wife about how frustrating the job was! But as they say, all's well that ends well!

Stace and Jason are planning to do their member BBQ at a future event or run. If anyone has a good idea about when they can do it, please let them know. I really appreciate John and Jason's help because I learned a heck of a lot and now I should be able to make the Barrett Lake run. I have always really enjoyed and appreciated our club, but those feeling are all the more strong after Sierra Trek and my clutch project. What a great club we have!

Be honest.  I was only second banana to Jase.  He is the real knowledgeable one. Had fun hanging out at the house and working with everyone. I do blame the lack of sleep regarding the bracket blocking the bolt hole.  It's not like Jase and I didn't keep saying we couldn't find the O2 sensor bracket after we mated the transmission. Then wondered why the hole was blocked. Duh! But like you said we took everything in stride and chalked it up to bracket just slipped in at the right angle to not notice it and loom was visible and not binding in the bell housing.  Looking forward to their member BBQ.
