Hey there.
Found you folks via searching around. Was a bit hesitant to say hello given all the jeeps. But then I saw this thread.... and was slightly relieved. Although that rig is so much more stout.
I'm a really a novice at offroading and want to get a little more involved. Mostly light stuff as my ride is the DD. Also, wouldn't want to hold up the pro-train b/c of the oversized. I have done a little offroading from when in Colorado a few years back. Witnessed a Cherokee flip over...pics to prove it too.
But here are a few pics of my rig:
My goal is to learn more, become a better driver, and have the etiquette in all respects for the hobby. I'm not the rock garden, mostly the fire/mining type roads. Would love to tackle some mud even. Currently I have some maintenance tasks to do, such as front axle ujoints and seals. 😯 I'd love to find a trail in the back country and do some fly fishin....
This looks like a group that could help me out, so I'm a sponge ready to soak up the heckling if I meet the aims around here.
Sorry for the long post, but thanks for the read.

Thanks for the welcome and compliments. Looks like I just recently missed a member meeting and that next outing is 9/24. I will poke around here more on the site for information and such. Just learned today that only ujoints and track bar need RLC (rugged loving care).
Any recommended stores for good quality parts of these? I'd like a step above OEM. I think I'm going to prefer non-greasable ujoints just purely based on my activity level. I've done a little bit of research and would love to do the job this weekend, but ordering parts won't get here in time. So if there are Sac area stores that I could be pointed to...much appreciated.
Thanks!

Well, I stumbled upon PartsMike up in Newcastle. http://www.partsmike.com/
They carried the Spicer Ujoints I was keen on. Anyone else use them for anything?
