I'm enjoying my new Kevlar MT/Rs...

On road driving quality:
They are very quiet and smoothe. They balanced very easy for such a large tire (38x13.5x17). They tend to flat spot a little when the Jeep sits for extended periods of time, but warm/soften up quickly once you get moving. They also seem to be wearing well.

Off road driving quality:
They air down nice and give a nice contact patch. The sidewalls are very flexible and seem to be durable. Even when I destroyd the wheel, the tires didn't have a scratch in them. They grip dry rocks better than the old style MT/Rs, which were pretty darned good to start with. Still not that great in wet conditions or mud, no improvement in this aspect over the old style.

Overall quality:
They are pricey but I don't think I could find a better all-around tire for street and trail.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

The one I've got has been really good too. It looks great, seems to show no treadwear, and makes no road noise whatsoever! But it's only been on the spare tire carrier the whole time. lol

I'd have to drive my Jeep for the next 10 years to make it to 100,000 miles.

At the rate I've been driving my Jeep (2000 model) I should hit 100k in January or February 2016.

I have a 2000TJ with 37K. I should hit 40K in about a year (or two).

I'm glad you like them. I tried 3 times to buy some Kevlar MTR's and every time they weren't available.....like not even being made! They told me to try in November. 😡 I loved my old style MTR's and was looking forward to the new style but, I was tired of availability issues and bought some Toyo's. 8)

I think they are better all around than the old style except under wet breaking conditions. They seamed to handle the wet highways at speed on saturday real well. Mine are showing a fair amount of wear on the outside lugs. Most likely due to my driving this season,am still getting use to being a few inches wider. Will most likely replace them after next season if i have learned to drive better by then. Not sure how many miles, 17 trips worth however many that is.
