Looks great Kevin! I got not so good of a deal on some new 35" MTR's. Mine looks a little dumpy now. I think the
new tires are a bit wider than the old style. Maybe the 1" added width of a bead-lock would help....

I changed my mind about this whole Jeep thing and went back to stock...

Just kidding. My mom found that picture. That's a picture of my Jeep, circa 1992, probably not long after I drove it home from the dealer.

Thanks. It's come a long way in 18 years. I don't know how close I am but I may eventually have more aftermarket parts than original parts. 😯

My 33s are siped.

Now that I have 35s, how long does my Dana 35 (30 spline w/ ARB) axle have to live? Just trying to be prepared. mr-green

I see a pattern - I'll say 35 minutes on the trail or 35 road miles, whichever is furthest from home.

Depends...are we talking Fordyce Trail? Then I give you a few good runs before it explodes. Strawberry Trail? Maybe up to the waterfall before it explodes. Hammers? Good luck mr-green

Most anyone else, the axle would last a long time. With you behind the wheel 😯 I have seen you drive up winch hill 1 on Fordyce like you stole the Jeep 😈

its only a matter of time. i hope you carry spares? here is a link to what happened to mine ,its the last pic showing the carrier and ring gear. it doesnt look to bad in the pic , but it sounded pretty bad when it went. i was only doing 20 mph on a fire road in 2nd. it only had 92,000 miles on it.

It wasn't difficult. It does take a little time though. If you doing just the front you might be able to get it done in a day but plan on an entire weekend for those little unknowns that popup with any project. Take your time. mr-green

On a side note, I didn't care for the bare aluminum look from the outside so I picked up a couple cans of Rustoleum Undercoating (Lowe's) and sprayed the fender wells with that. Plan on one can per fender well.

Was yours 30 spline at the time or stock? I know it's still only a matter of time but I know stock is much weaker.

woow i forgot you had upgrade shafts and carrier. if you welded the tubes to the pumpkin then you should be fine with 35's , i think.

I ordered some spare Ten Factory 30 spline shafts from 4wd.com for the D35 rear. A D60 isn't in the budget at the moment so I'm going to try and get through the summer and hopefully never have to use the spares.

I used the 10% club discount plus I had a $25 promo card. 😀

ive got a buddy with a ford 8.8 , drum brake style if your interested. he will let it go for $125, hurry if you want it, it wont be around for long at that price. disc ones are more desirable but drums are on yours now and they work ok.

Though stronger, isn't an 8.8 still a C-Clip rear end?
