Is anyone going to the Cantina for the Con this year? I've never been and would like some input. Do the vendors have stuff for sale or are they mainly just displaying items? Does it cost anything to get in or are they raising their money through food and raffle sales only?
The event is free. Money is raised by the Rubicon Trail Foundation through vendor booth rentals, food sales (tacos, nachos, etc.), and the raffle. The raffle has a lot of great stuff and you don't need to be present to win(raffle is on Sunday). The vendors have a lots of things on display and offer some specials at the event. The spillway area is packed with rigs so you can see vehicles of all types from stock to highly modified. It's fun to walk around and check out all the rigs. Last year there was a major traffic issue between the dam and the spillway. I assume this year the RTF will take measures to prevent this such as traffic control or limiting parking to allow for two way traffic (fingers crossed). I may be going. I will post up later if I do plan to attend.

I am thinking of heading up there Sunday morning. Hopefully will be able to let the kids play around, have a few tacos, and buy a bunch of raffle tickets. Then get out of there before the traffic disaster happens. I wasn't there last year when it was supposedly terrible. I went 2 years ago when it wasn't that bad. I'll be pretty annoyed if I get stuck in a massive traffic disaster. 2 years ago it was a beautiful day and pretty good fun.
Post up if you're heading up there. If you have a ham radio we can yak it up (unless you haven't taken Tyler's class yet you lazy ass!!).
