Where is your favorite Summer vacation spot and why?

Fred SubscriberFred SubscriberThis is a great topic. Teddi and I have been trying to figure out what to do for vacation. Neither of us are very creative and can think of anything new to do.
I like to go camping in the mountains. I'd like to go mid-week again to avoid the crowds.
Teddi has this life-calling to go to South Carolina. She's never been there and doesn't know what she'd like to do there, but she feels she just has to go. I think we may try to make it there in the fall.

JohnDF SubscriberJohnDF started this SubscriberMy favorite Summer vacation spot is tha Hat Creek Hereford Ranch Campground in Hat Creek Ca.
It is a really nice private campground set in the middle of a working cattle ranch. All the camp sites are clean, have grass, tables, fire pits, and shade trees. There is a swimming/fishing pond, store, playground, horseshoe pits, showers, and a laundry mat. It is within a 45 minute drive to a bunch of world class trout strems, lakes, and rivers. It's a quick drive into Burney where you can go to the Frostey and get a soft serve ice cream cone that is about a foot tall 😏I used to wheel a lot. . .

Our car came from North Carolina. Is that close enough? Teddi could come over and rub the car if that will help! 😁Kathleen and Brad
Justin SubscriberJustin SubscriberMy favorite vacation spot would be Fowlers Camp on the McCloud river. My family has been camping there every deer hunting season for 80+ years. I probably made it to the family campout about 30 of my 36 years on this earth. I have been to all kinds of tropical and other vacation spots but, the McCloud river just has so many good memories, I'm drawn to it.

Kelly and I are talking about going back to Monterey here shortly and we have a family trip planned to Fort Bragg in July. It's always nice to get over to the coast when it's 100+ in the valley. 😎
In terms of long trips, Kelly and I spent a while on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Hotel across the street from the beach and they had this great beach bar. Not sure I'd go there right now with the oil on the way. 🙁 We also went to Maui once. Can't go wrong in Hawaii.
