a Firefox add-on that blocks the auto play of flash animations when you visit a site. It has a whitelist for sites you want to have auto play.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-...../addon/433

Long Description

Flashblock is an extension for the Mozilla, Firefox, and Netscape browsers that takes a pessimistic approach to dealing with Macromedia Flash content on a webpage and blocks ALL Flash content from loading. It then leaves placeholders on the webpage that allow you to click to download and then view the Flash content.

Flashblock currently blocks the following content types:
* Macromedia Flash
* Macromedia Shockwave
* Macromedia Authorware

I think we need a "Tech" section on the forum.
I just use IE and DSL...it works well for me.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

Seriously...we have some smart "techy" people that have helped me (and others) a bunch. But maybe just using the "chit-chat" forum is fine too.

My Dad has an analog antenna on his roof and records TV with VHS.

8) i already have that. the only thing is that i havnt decided if it gets annoying to keep pressing play or what. seems like most sites have flash everywhere on their pages.

and no, i dont consider myself a geek but i do like to know more about computers and alternative OS and web browsers. i also like freebies! wink
