So I got to work on Thursday morning to find out my left rear tire had an object through the tread and was leaking pretty bad. I put on the spare to get home. I could not pull the object out to plug the tire. Off to the tire shop I went on Friday. It turns out a steel clip-on wheel weight had gone into the tire including the clip. No wonder I could not pull it out! They said it was not repairable due to too many cords were cut. I bought a new one but at least BFG pro-rated it. I ended up paying $125 including mounting and balancing. The tire tech said they get a lot of punctures from steel wheel weights since the lead weights were banned. Way to go California! Banning lead costs drivers more money in tires and causes more tires to be discarded. How is that good for the environment? I only had 16,000 miles on that tire.

It's like all those electric cars leads to less fuel taxes that leads to bad roads to higher taxes and higher registration. Also toxic spent fuel battery's with a life expectancy equivalent to a spent nuclear fuel rod. As the old saying goes be carful what you ask for you might get it...
LOL
