I can't see spending extra money on a dirt cheap system to "downgrade" to XP.

how is it for mainstream home stuff?

I have vista on 4 PC's currently. Vista 64 seems to work just fine.

I'm running it on my laptop. I've been using it since September without any hiccups. I don't ask a lot of it, but it's been pretty solid for me.

Dan try windows 7. its supposed to be way better and faster boot up times.

I recently used vista, it seems to run well, t's been out for a while now, and has service pack 1 avaliable , so iit is a lot more stable...
