Check out the survey at the bottom of the page.
Sierra Trek is our biggest fundraiser. We are in the midst of a very important issue regarding the event and we need YOUR help to make a decision on where the next Trek event will be held. This decision will not please everyone, but this is YOUR Association and we will do our best to go with the majority consensus, as long as our budget will allow us to. Please use the link below to be taken to the survey form.
We would like to request that you take the time to answer the simple questions below to give us some guidance. All submissions will be automatically directed to the event chairman. Please complete the survey as soon as possible; the issue will be discussed at the next Trek planning meeting on November 5.

This has been a big topic over on the Pirate board again too. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum.....p?t=814311
I've never attended Sierra Trek as a paying participant so I don't know if it was better at Meadow Lake or at Cisco Grove. My selfish opinion is I like the idea of Sierra Trek staying at Cisco Grove so those of us working the winch hill have Meadow Lake to ourselves. Imagine 1000 additional campers there.

I already typed a lengthly e-mail to Jeff, and responded to their survey.
I asked participants on the run this year, where they preferred staying and about 2/3 responded cisco grove. That is what I replied with.
I also responded with SEVERAL other concerns including the $10 "insurance fee", the lack of recognition for all volunteers (rather than the two clubs at the camp ground) and other problems I saw with the event. I also made at least 3 suggestions for how to improve those problems, as well as overall participation. I'll share if I hear back.

I've responded and emailed as well. I'm not sure Cisco is the right place for the event, but I don't think they have the volunteer support to pull it off at Meadow anymore. The main concern I hear about Cisco is the road noise. I think it would work great if they found a campground that easily accessible somewhere between Meadow and Cisco.

There is considerable campground space off of Hwy 49. Maybe that could be a suggestion. Again, it would be close to the hwy, but a much less busier hwy.
