Well since there is absolutely NOTHING to do in Georgia I'm going to start fixing my '66 Mustang my grandpa gave to me before he died over 15 years ago. It still runs but has sat unused for a couple years. It has a 289 V8 engine and automatic transmission. It only has 80,000 original miles, everything other than the brakes, tires, and distributor cap is all original on this antique!! Does anybody have any experience with these old cars that I might could use as a knowledge resource if I run into any bumps along the way?

Nice little retirement you got there. I would start with washing it and not storing plastic totes on the roof. Besides that, just standard classic car stuff. Unless the engine has been rebuilt with newer heads with hardened valve seats be sure to run a lead additive in the fuel. Do your best to find ethanol free fuel or you will need to replace fuel lines, filters, and seals. If you have a small airport nearby you can get some jerry cans of 100LL aviation fuel. Since you aren't in California you should have an easier time than I do.

Buy a bucket of desiccant to keep inside when parked, they tend to "sweat" inside if not in a completely dry location. I use DampRid http://www.homedepot.com/p/Dam...../100391308
My grandpa has a 66 fastback but not much is factory left on it. We replaced the interior after a mold issue and now it looks shiny new inside. I will see if I can get the names of the companies we used in the rebuild.

Hi Travis,
Nice ride! I have never had a Mustang, but I have had the following Fords: 1970 Torino GT Convertible (still have it - it's a project car), '70 Torino GT Fastback, '70 Ranchero, '71 Ranchero GT, '73 Gran Torino Station Wagon, '74 Gran Torino Station Wagon, '75 Gran Torino Station Wagon. There are some similarities through the car lines. I'll try to help with any questions you might have. Good luck, it looks like you are starting with a pretty solid starting point.
