New Demo Forum

    I've been working on upgrading the forum software and have a new temporary forum up for everyone to check out. The url is https://posse4x4.org/demo . Check it out and let me know what you think or if you find things that don't work correctly.



    Here are a few notes about the conversion:



    The database was converted from a 9/15 backup so it is not up to date.



    I'm aware that some avatars are missing. This is because the backup I had with the avatars in it was from an earlier date than the database backup. You should be able to add or change your avatars if you want to.



    The last topic titles on the index page may not show up until there has been an update in that forum.



    Don't use this forum as replacement for the main forum. All data in the demo forum will be deleted when we do the final converison.



    The statistics at the bottom of the page are cached for 15 minutes so you won't see immediate changes.



    If all goes well I'll probably do the software upgrade next Tuesday or Thursday evening. I'll put up a new post when I have a better idea when I'll be doing the upgrade.

    This week isn't going to work out too well for me to do the software upgrade. I'll plan to bring the forums down about 5:00 pm on Tuesday 9/30 to start working on it. I expect it will take most of the evening to complete the work.

    it couldnt convert my password when loging in for the first time so it asked me to send you an email to request a new one. i didnt, im too lazy. 😂

    Convert your password? I don't recall anything like that when I first logged in.

    I did see your report once I logged in but I didn't get an email notification. Dan tested the same thing a while back and I thought I got an email. I'll check into it.



    In addition to the reporting functions, moderators get all kinds of new banning options. 😏

    Is that why Alex can't log in? Did you test it on him? If not, he might be a good candidate for a test banning! 😀

    That just earned you a 6 hour ban. 😂



    I just thought it might be a good thing to test. You should be able to log in again after 10:20 pm. If you can't let me know.



    The ban options are permanent, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 1 day, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, or until a specified date.



    There are also warnings. I'll go give some lucky person a warning.
