This has been a very sad Summer. I can't remember a recent Summer that has been so disapointing. There has been very little wheeling and even less fly fishing. By this time last year I'd already run Fordyce about 10 times. This year I've run it 3 times. Almost every Summer for the last 5 years, I would go on a run every weekend. Not this year. This is the first year I missed the Triple Trail, the Rubicon Roundup, the Trail Maintenance and didn't go to Dusy. Heck, I've probably only been fly fishing a half dozen times. Kind of sad.

Offline I agree. I helped on Sierra Trek but don't even remember which club run I went on previously this year. 
On the plus side though, we've got Barrett coming up next weekend and the club camping trip two weeks after that.

Yup. And I'm going fishing tomorrow. I'll have to end the Summer strong. Elena and I are also talking about doing a couple of easy "family" wheeling trips. I also need one more trip to the Little Sluice for Rob to run through it (so he'll be my friend again).

I've done ok I think. I missed the Rubicon Round Up which bums me out, but with my vacation situation it has been a tricky one for the last couple of years. Come to think of it...I don't think I've ever driven it. I've either hitched a ride or missed it. I haven't used my rock lights all year which means no night runs which is a bummer.
Triple Trail and Sierra Trek were a ton of fun though and I'm always up for a Barrett run.
I think next summer will be a tough one. Is it safe to ratchet strap a car seat to the floor in the 4Runner? 😀

Unless you get a "kitchen" pass, you're wheeling days next year aren't looking too good.

When I didn't have kids I used to wheel a lot. When you have newborns and young kids there other things that seem to fill those empty days. Not to mention its not too safe to take babies out wheeling for a year or 2 until their necks get strong enough to support their head and all the bouncing around.
My kids are finally at that stage where it much easier to take them out in the runner and they had an ok time out at Prairie City a couple weeks ago. Things are starting to look up.

Offline It hasn't been all that bad, I have been wheeling a fair amont, and I have Fly fished more this year than I have on the last 10 years. I have been on the river some 20 plus times in the last 3 months...
