I was surprised to see this. Kindof cool they can predict this 4 days ahead of time
...WET AND WINDY WEATHER MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...
ABUNDANT MOISTURE FROM RECENT SUPER TYPHOON MELOR IN THE WESTERN
PACIFIC IS HEADING TOWARDS THE WEST COAST OF THE U.S. NWS COMPUTER
MODELS COMBINE THIS MOISTURE WITH A POWERFUL JET STREAM AND DEVELOP
A STRONG STORM THAT MOVES INTO THE AREA EARLY NEXT WEEK. THIS STORM
HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF PRECIPITATION
FOR INTERIOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA LATE MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY ALONG
WITH STRONG WINDS.
CURRENTLY...PRECIPITATION LOOKS TO BEGIN IN THE COASTAL RANGE
MONDAY AFTERNOON SPREADING OVER INTERIOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA BY
MONDAY EVENING. PERIODS OF HEAVY PRECIPITATION ARE POSSIBLE
TUESDAY INTO TUESDAY NIGHT WITH MORE SHOWERY WEATHER LIKELY
WEDNESDAY. PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS FROM MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY IN
THE CENTRAL VALLEY COULD EXCEED 2 INCHES WITH 3 TO 7 INCHES
POSSIBLE IN THE FOOTHILLS AND MOUNTAINS. SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED
TO REMAIN HIGH THROUGH THE EVENT...GENERALLY ABOVE 7000 FEET.
VERY STRONG WINDS COULD ACCOMPANY THIS STORM...ESPECIALLY TUESDAY THROUGH
TUESDAY NIGHT. AT THIS TIME IT APPEARS WINDS IN PORTIONS OF THE
CENTRAL VALLEY COULD REACH SUSTAINED SPEEDS UP TO 40 MPH WITH
HIGHER GUSTS. WIND IN THE FOOTHILLS AND MOUNTAINS COULD BE
STRONGER WITH GUSTS TO 60 MPH OR MORE. WINDS OF THESE SPEEDS CAN
CAUSE PROPERTY DAMAGE AND DOWN BRANCHES OR TREES.
MAIN STEM RIVERS AND STREAMS ARE RUNNING LOW FROM THE SUMMER AND
ARE NOT EXPECTED TO HAVE SIGNIFICANT IMPACT. HOWEVER EXCESSIVE
RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL COULD PRESENT FLOODING ISSUES FOR
SMALLER STREAMS AND TRIBUTARIES ALONG WITH URBAN AREAS. IN
ADDITION...HEAVY PRECIPITATION FALLING ON BURN SCAR AREAS FROM
PAST FIRES COULD LEAD TO DEBRIS FLOWS.
THIS STORM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION
AND STRONG WINDS FOR INTERIOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA EARLY NEXT WEEK.
LOOK FOR MORE DETAILED STATEMENTS TO BE ISSUED AS THE STORM GETS CLOSER.

I'm having all of my windows replaced. The last 8 windows are being cut out today and the stucco guy has just started patching things up.
Today the stucco guy asked if he could work the weekend. (I guess they check the weather too).
Huge mess. 2 inches of rain will be AWESOME to wash it all away.

We went with M i l g a r d windows installed by S o u t h g a t e G l a s s. the sales guy is " j e f f @ sou th ga te glass . com ". he was easy to work with. S G Glass is one of the main Mg dealers in the area.
I learned there are a lot of ways to replace windows. I went with the more labor intensive way which is the new-construction style with a nail-fin not a replace ment style that fits in the existing frame. It added a bit to the cost, but in the end I wanted the house to look like the windows belonged, nut just bolted on to fix a problem.
So far I'm really impressed with the crew, actually 2 crews (4 guys) going at it for 5 days now. Yesterday and today a 5th guy showed up.
The windows are fantabulous. I picked the T u s c a n y vinyl because I wanted double hung windows upstairs. We got the S u n c o a t 3D-max option, which is C a r d i n a l G l a s s L o E 3 6 6 filled with argon gas with foam spacer's between the glass. and they block out a ton of heat. It hasn't been cold enough to notice the difference yet.
They sub'd out the stucco work and the guy looks really good. He did some prep work yesterday and brought a crew today.
Give me a call and stop by next time your up this way if you want to check them out. They should be "done-done" monday or tuesday...

Consider this thread jacked!
We put the argon filled G r eat L ak es windows in our house in Rancho. I think we got them through We athe r i t e. We did the easier of the two installs and were very happy with it. They were in and out in a day!!! They were very professional. I'm not sure what brand we have at the new house, but they're also the easier install type. They look great, the only drawback is that they look like they have a thicker frame. I can take some pictures if you want, but our windows are dirty now.
When we got our windows we stayed away from M il lg ar d because my parents had terrible luck with them. They had about 5 or so of them replaced. The warranty was unbeatable and they were replaced at no cost, but they were a hassle. The warranty we got was basically the same.
I added spaces because they look cool and make it difficult to read. 😀

When I got bids, the And er son Rene wal were double the pri ce, actually a bit more than double.
And M i l g a r d has a better warranty.
I liked the Re new al too, but I couldn't justify the cost difference.
