John asked me to help out with the recent website performance problems. I've seen some errors from Tapatalk in the error logs so as of 6/27 @ 5:30 pm, I've temporarily disabled Tapatalk to see if it has any impact on performance.

I'm reading this from Tapatalk. Thanks for helping out Fred!

I don't have full admin privileges yet so I can't manually flush the cache. Some may be able to get in through Tapatalk for a short time until all the cache gets rebuilt. I can't - it tells me it can't connect to the server.

So you're telling me sooner or later I'll run out of cache??? 😂

Thanks for your help Fred. You should have admin rights now. Email me if you have any problems.

Thank John, I see that I'm a temporary admin now. I'll keep poking around to see if I can find anything. I really suspect our hosting company has over subscribed their shared hosting plan we're on though. Besides upgrading our software, we may want to consider upgrading to a dedicated plan or switch to a new hosting company. From what I've been reading, our current hosting company doesn't have a great reputation when it comes to hosting.

I am frustrated. This is the first time I have been able to log on since the roundup. I have an event coming up this weekend with no way to communicate. Might I suggest we start a facebook page so we have a plan b in the event of site problems. Sounds like John and Fred are on the job. I hope this can be fixed for good. Thanks for the hard work guys.

Are we going to be bringing Tapatalk back? I know you mentioned temporarily. I just really enjoy that feature for our forum and I know there others that use it as well.

    Um...what?

I don't know yet. It's the only thing I've removed and the site has been working pretty well since then. Coincidence? Maybe, but I want to give it some time to see what happens.

I agree with Fred. Things went really bad after we installed it and now things are better after we removed it. Besides, I already got my Tapatalk refund 😁

The website has been on and off bad for about a year or more. I don't think it is Tapatalk. Im putting my money on the host.

    Thank you, Fred.

FWIW, if we verify that Tapatalk is causing issues with the proper functioning of the site then I'm all for shutting it down again. It is convenient but I was using my mobile browser for some time before Tapatalk.

Site seems ok recently with performance. Some times were slow, but I never received any error messages...

Definitely improving. I guess all those negative vibes aimed at GoDaddy are having the desired effect.
