Who cares about gas prices...what about beer prices???
I decided to make my own beer. It wasn't cheaper, just fun. I purchased a Mr. Beer kit, some swingtop bottles, and a month later I am drinking!

Yeah, it aint bad. I am glad I did it because it's drinkable.
I just drank one and it reminded me of a Bud or a weak pale ale. They say to let it sit for a while in the fridge before trying it. It seems to be getting better. I should have some on the Rubicon Run.

My final report on the Mr. Beer kit (Pale Ale):
I fermented it for 2 weeks in the keg.
The I put it into bottles with priming sugar for 10 days.
This carbonated it well.
I put them into the fridge.
After a couple of days, I tested one. It tasted ok and carbonation was good.
After another week, I tasted another bottle, it was better.
A week later it's good to drink!
Total time = about 1 month...or you can just go to the store.
