LED Light Install

Hey guys I picked up some new LEDS, and I'm not sure how to install them. I have a TJ with factory fog lights already wired.
I guess my questions is can I just hook up the lights through the factory harness, or do I need to run a secondary harness.
The light only have a neg, and pos wire. Does someone make a adapter for the factory wire harness.

Hope this isn't to confusing lol...

Thanks for all your help.
Ray

Are you swapping them out for the factory fog lights? Do you want them to work on the fog light switch? If so I'd just cut them in and connect the wires.

Yes thats the plan. Unfortunately I don't have the factory fogs. The wire is there just not sure witch wire is poss and neg, I guess i could get a tester and see what the pos wire is. Is it just that simple? Just cut off the connector and rewire?
Thanks for all the help.

They aren't colored? Usually there is something denoting the difference. If you have a Haynes manual or similar, then there should be wiring diagrams to show this.

Come to think of it...it may not matter at all what wire is what. The light is just in series. A tester will just tell you there is current running once the switch is flipped.

If you want them removable you can get connector's called Weatherpack. They have them at Napa. Not the cheapest but are protective. Otherwise, go with what Keane suggested on splicing together directly. Maybe heat shrink it too.

I think Carl's right about it not mattering which wire is which. I'd use a test light to check to see which was positive but even if you're wrong you should be fine.

That makes since.. I'll see if I can head down to Napa Saturday and get the weatherpack. I'll upload a picture after I get them hooked up. Thanks for the tips.

Good point, I'll run them with head lights for now, I plan on running several LED's in the future. At that point I'll have to get
a new harness. Thanks for the incite.
