10/18 Fall Maintenance Run

    All,

    The fall maintenance run is Saturday, Oct 18th. Lee has to work, so he asked me to coordinate the effort in his absence. Since this is the fall run, and we can cover the trail from both sides, I suggest we meet at the gas station/Subway in Pollock Pines. We can split up from there and run the trail from both sides.



    Meet at 830am and leave by 9am.



    Remember that you can ride with other members and only need to bring some gloves and a garbage bag. Other helpful items are shovels, rakes, loppers, a chainsaw, prybars and pruning sheers.



    For members/active prospects - maintenance run attendance is a requirement under our by-laws, so if you did not make the spring run, you should plan to attend this one.



    Can I get a count of who is in?



    I am in - I will bring the 4-door, so I have room to haul stuff/people.

    Has anybody been out there in a while? Anything we need to focus on? More rocks at V-Rock? Bypasses?



    I can bring the truck this year so if we need to get concrete to v-rock I can help. 😏 If not, I'll probably just hitch a ride.

    Good Questions. I haven't run up there in a while. I was planning general maintenance. John posted a link that TTTORA was planning to be up there as well. I followed up on their site and mentioned our weekend. We'll see if we can team up since they were only focused on one campgrounding spot up top.

    Good...your rig can't take the abuse of such an extreme trail...you probably saved yourself from a couple of broken axles and bent steering.

    We will be taking the yellow TJ with no top. Dress warm.

    It was 38 degrees at my cabin yesterday, and there was snow on the ground! Dress warm for the workday.

    My Jeep will be full, Teddi's planning to go on this maintenance run.



    Don won't be going. He's recuperating from a leg malfunction.

    He strained a muscle in his calf. Its been hurting him for a couple weeks now and his doctor told him to take it easy and ice it down regularly.

    If John gets his jeep fixed, it will free up two seats.



    Aslo, I know Mark is going in his FJ. That should also have a seat.



    I think Larry and George are safe to show up and hitch a ride.



    How about eating at the mexican restaurant in Cameron Park afterwards? That way, people could park there.
