Is thing happening, not happening, postponed, or rescheduled?

I used to wheel a lot. . .

I think it's now just a prerun... I'm also not convinced that they'll open the forest roads this weekend.

I agree. No sense in going if we can't get far enough in the trail to do any work. Or, we could snowshoe in! lol

How about making the 15th a pre-run, if open, and do the maintenance run later?

I think the consensus was that even if the restriction was lifted, the snow level would still be too low to perform any type of meaningful trail maintenance.

They probably won't decide to extend the restriction until Friday the 14th. My feeling is that we should plan on postponing the run and coming up with plan B during Thursday's meeting.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a good plan to me George. I just wanted to make sure it was going to be postponed before i made other plans.

UPDATE: It's expected to snow down to 3,000 feet this weekend. Wow, it's almost June!

I'm kind of surprised the Forest Service has ended the seasonal closure - http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/eldorado/news/2 ... 051510.pdf

That's because the restrictions are more about CONTROL than any environmental issues :hack:

Some of you may already know about this link but I just found it so I thought I'd post it. It's a webcam in Strawberry. If you click on the link to the webcam, he has links to previous pics on the left. There was snow there last week.

I might take a ride up there today or tomorrow and see what it looks like at the trail head (if I can get to it).

I didn't make it to the trail head. There was 3+ feet of snow in the shady areas. I didn't feel like airing down, or winching so I didn't get even halfway down the road. Hopefully two weeks will make a difference. . . .

I just tried to send Ranger Hancock a powerpoint slide show of our Spring Maintenance run and got the following error message from my mail server:

This email address worked earlier in the year, did I miss something? Is he still our point of contact?

Larry had a lot of trouble getting in touch with him for a while. I think he has a couple different ways. I'll bug him about it.

Thanks! That email address worked in the past (or at least didn't get returned). After sending 3 or 4 emails and 2 voicemails in January & February with no replies or callbacks, I was concerned he might think I was a nuisance (stalker) so I stopped trying to contact him. But I would like him to acknowledge the work done on the Spring Maintenance run.

You guys are going to need a bigger chain saw I think when the snow is all gone... :hack:
I came to a halt at what I believe to be the snow wall, it's renforced with a tree layed over across the trail.
