I went up to Long Canyon to Strawberry Pass today. Long Canyon is good to go.  There are not any trees blocking the trail and the trail does not have any snow. There is only one spot that was badly eroded due to this winter.  Strawberry Pass is another story.  The V rock obstacle definitely left something to be desired. There are several large mud sections that are making a big mess and there are several tracks through meadow areas that are off trail . I made it 1/4 mile passed the B spur and that was where I meet the snow drifts . Varied from 2ft-9ft  and I wasn’t about to which the last 2 miles just to get through. I only saw two other people on the trail (1quad and 1 dirt bike ) they turn a round about a 1/2 mile from where I stopped. They said it only got worse from there.

Wow the winter erosion appear disappointing. I guess will have some work ahead of us. Did you get pictures of the damage to the meadow? Does it look like it needs our intervention or will nature take care of it.?

Given the recent work on the trail to get it reopened and the wet winter, should we consider a summer maintenance run to try to restore the trail to its' traditional condition and to address drainage and other current issues? I would be happy to do an additional maintenance run this summer in addition to the fall run if we can get enough volunteers. Maybe we can discuss this at tomorrow's club meeting Kris.

You must have not gone to the end of Long Canyon to Pack Saddle Pass Road.  There is a big tree crossing the trail.  I was just there Sunday.

So long and thanks for all the fish!!!
