Edit) This is the campground I'm thinking of. I think we were pretty close. http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/eldorado/docume ... _capps.pdf

It sure looks like a run would be doable from Iron mtn, out Grizzly Flat!

    Maybe a spring run???

We took the Sly Park exit from Hwy 50, went past the Mormon Immigrant Trail turn off and headed toward Grizzly Flat. There were a couple turns we took before getting to Grizzly Flat but I don't recall the names of the roads. Once we were in Grizzly Flat we took Capp's Crossing road which turned into a forest service road. If we had gone farther that road would have either turned into North South road or taken us too North South road.

Looks like you all had a good time. How did the JK work?

    I used to wheel a lot. . .

The JK worked fine in the snow. It is doesn't go as well as the yellow jeep because of the added weight, but we didn't get stuck on the run, only farting around at lunch.
