Road Patrol #3! As before will be monitoring traffic on Iron Mountain Road during the day posted above, handing out maps, advising on green sticker rules, and turning around cars. After some feedback from some of the forest service people I will want to brain storm with those in attendance on other ways to improve signage.
Meet at the Pollock Pines Subway, just north of hwy 50, on the Sly Park exit. Meeting time: 8:30AM
We will leave for the trail by 9AM. We now have a dedicated box of supplies for this and other patrol activities so no waiting around or going out of our way to meet up with Kyle. Please remember to dress warm and bring water, cold air at ~5,000ft holds little moisture so your body is using a ton just to keep your mouth from drying out.
The club monitors the station until about 4 PM at which time we return the supplies are packed up.
Most of the day is free so many people will take off for snow runs.
Chili Cookoff
The decision was made to skip the brownies and go with a Chili cookoff based on the fact that the meeting had 6 people wanting to bring chili. This sounds like plenty to justify a full on competition. Please RSVP here if you are brining chili so we know how many to plan for. If somebody has a template for judges ballots then let me know. We will also need trophy ideas.

-Ez-up type awnings (the 2 we had last time were amazing once the snow started)
-Club Banner (Greg)
-Cones (looking at you Guy)
-Portable generator or large inverter, extension cord, power strips (crock pots only draw about 200watts each so a 2000watt inverter or generator should be plenty)
-Cups/plates

The question is who gets it? I suggest the trail master control the pop up, but Kris may already have one or two.
Just let me know. My jeep goes in the shop Saturday. Hopefully I can get back ready to go for this snow run too.
