IOR guys (Idaho Off Road) are heading to the Rubicon tomorrow. Will be on the trail Friday AM. Wanted to come in from the Tahoe side but looks like with the snow we will be coming in from Loon Lake.

My brother and I went up today to spider and back out. It is going to be a busy weekend! At least 15 rigs set up for camping passed us on our way out. I think it is going to be a pirate Initiation run at the little sluice as well.

Surely wasn't me...but Justin was heading up there. Maybe he decided to join the Pirates.

Got some buddies who are going to attempt to get in from the top today. Might not hear from them for a while if they get far enough in. Might be some new "LaSalle's on cadillac if they get that far.

WOW. What an amazing trail. Went in the Loon Lake side, camped at Spyder Lake. Couldn't have found a better camp spot. Was showing a friend of mine my new rock lights, next thing I know we are headed for Little Sluece!! With Gabe riding and spotting we only laid it on it's side once, drove out of that, drove up the wall and pivoted around a big ass rock. BOOM! We had made it! He was so excited (even though he has done the Rubicon many time he had not tried the sluece) Took a few tries but he also made it.

Next day we were on Upper Sluece, I think, and I sheared the bolts out of my high steer. Still had one bolt in and 2 sheared off, we were able to extract one, find a sort of fittable bolt, and had a wire feed welder along (thank God). Was able to fix it well enough to limp back to camp and home the next day.

In Tahoe now spending a couple of days. Will post some pictures later.

Special thanks to Justin. He had PM'd me a couple of times and even got to meet him and a couple more of your group. Great guys. Come to Boise, ID some time and we will show you some of our trails.

It was cool to meet all of you. 😎 It sounds like you guys had a great trip. Pretty neat that Merlin gave you guys "preferred" parking/camping. 😀
