I see the run this year is on the calendar for the 18th and 19th (Sunday/Monday).

I know that some people normally go in early on Fiday and Saturday.

I was wondering if anyone might be interested in a night wheeling run up to the group at Buck Island on Saturday night for something different this year? I have no problem going it alone, but it will be a fun run. We can talk details later.

The last report I heard from Rob is that there is still 8 feet of snow at Ellis. Has anybody else checked conditions? Is this run going to happen?

Did you guys see the photos from Fprdyce over Memorial Day? If that's any indication, we aren't going to get far on the Rubicon either.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

I think we will see a lot of traffic on the trail in the next three weeks. I hope we can gat to buck by then. We may not still get all the way across but I'm optimistic.

The problem is that I won't be able to make any later dates this summer unless we do day trips during the week.

I sure hope we at least try the run.

I'll have to wait and remain optimistic. But if there is a lot of snow and it looks like we won't get far, I may just pass. Snow camping in June is not high on priority list.

You might get to buck if you are lucky, but it took an entire day for well built buggies to just get to Spider last weekend. There is still 8 to 10 feet of snow at Spider lake. I would start making alternate plans. It will be late June or early July before you can run the entire trail, and that is only if the temps rise really fast and stay that way.

Thats a whole lot of snow to melt in 10 days...Big wide 38's might make it, but you have a whole lot of guys running tiny 35 and smaller tires that are going to have a miserable time trying to get to buck island and a worse time trying to get back up hill to get out at Loon...

Hope all that snow doesn't try to come down at once.

I can just sleep in the back of jeep now!

Thanks Rob for the pics too. I sure hope to see some snow melt. I have faith that many people are going to try and get across if the weather holds the next three weeks.

Scott, when are you planning to head up for the club trip? Saturday? What time are you leaving?

Rob, I had to rebuild the Ram and had WFO fab me a skid plate so it won’t get knocked again. And YES mr-green I finally got the chrome-alloy 35 spline axles in after having to replace one spindle that the stub shaft took out when it went.

Brad, I will be driving back up Friday night so Saturday I will be headed up there. I know you want to do a night opp in; I will probably head up in the AM and roll back out to meet you in the evening. Want to get as much wheeling in as I can in this short weekend. Probably have to drive back to LA on Sunday evening.

Who else is going to make this run.

PS. Rob & John - PM me your e-mail address and ill send you those pictures of the hammers.

Yes, Depending on access I wanted to get there in the evening and have some daylight driving and some night wheeling. Are you heading out on Sunday AM? If so, I could swing that too.

I just noticed on my calendar that I am working overtime in Lake Tahoe Friday and Sat. day shift. I wouldn't be able to go in until Sat. evening. I would get home from Tahoe around 4:30 or 5..If I though I could get in from the Tahoe side I would just do that, but I really doubt that will happen.

I was planning a Sat Night run any way so that may work for you. I was thinking in on Sat and back on Sunday.
