OfflineIt would be nice to make a list of annual club runs or events with fixed dates or the days of the week and get them on the calendar. That way people can plan a year in advance and can make arrangements for time off, if needed. Here is the start of a list of potential annual runs/events:
1. Hell Hole (day run) in May (1st Friday in June, right Josh?)
2. Sierra Trek (1 to 5 or 6 days, second week in August)
3. Barrett Lake (this September run was ideal)
4. Slick Rock/Deer Valley (2nd week or weekend in October)
5. Club campout
6. Toy run
7. Apple Hill runs
8. Rubicon overnight run
Um...what?

OfflineI'm not sure I can do it this year, but would anyone be interested in a Dusy Ershim Run in September? It would most likely be 4-5 day commitment. The trail would take approximately 3 days to do with maybe half days of traveling to and from trailhead. It's on my bucket list to complete.
I'm also interested in hosting a 395 overland style exploration trip. It would be an experiment run as I'm not familiar with the area. If someone has a designated route, I'd be happy to lead the run and work together on facilitating.
Um...what?

Interested in both runs, as always, it depends on the date, but the Nevada run especially so.

OfflineI have blocked off the week of August 16 - 23 to be in the Mammoth Lake, June Lake, Mono Lake area. I will be based in a VRBO in June lake but am up to camping out some of the time. I am unfamiliar with the rums in the area but there are many ranging from easy to difficult. The only one I have done is Bodie Ghost Town entering from the North which is a super easy trail. Runs I am interested in exploring would be Laurel Lakes, Sand Canyon, Copper Mountain, Deer Mountain, Mono Crater Trail ands Kelty Meadows Trail. I have not been on any of these trails. These are all easy to moderate but there are many more difficult trails too ( when I am alone I stick to easy to moderate trial). If any one was interested in coming out for some runs or putting a trip together, I am interested as I will be in that area at that time.

OfflineI am unsure if the Jeep will be ready but am interested in the Dusy run. It is more like a 3-4 day run. The trail is ~32 miles long. the total gas loop is 100 miles. ~30 before the trail and ~30 after the trail.
We would camp at two locations (lakes on the trail). This makes the drive only 10 miles each day, very manageable.
I would suggest an early departure from NorCal, drive to Shaver Lake, get gas, run to the trailhead, and run to the first camping spot on day one. This should get us to camp before dark. Then we can sleep in and run the second leg, easily getting to campsite 2 in daylight. then we can take it easy day 3 and be off the trail mid afternoon and drive back home. 3 days, with 2 nights on the trail. Thoughts?

My kids daycare is closed for spring break the week of April 15th. Planning a multi-day trip to Death Valley area. Trip is still in early route planning but goal is to hit somewhere that is too hot to hit in summer
We are interested in DV runs & will tentatively go. Keep us up to date on your latest plans Kris & we can get closer to confirming this trip.

Jeff, keep your plans with updates, so we can plan our tentative plans to attend.

Greg, we have no specific plans as of yet, but Jeff Light (below) is planning some potential runs around Mammoth Lakes. Perhaps, just as a thought, maybe we can plan something together (?). I'm not sure our new Jeep is suitable for Dusy...I'm unfamiliar with that run.

That sounds like a great plan to me. I hear the trail is getting more challenging and that Thompson Hill is the hardest section.
I'd love to have you on the run as you know the trail better than me.

I'd love to hit Barrett, Hell Hole and Slick Rock this year if I can get the time off work. I only have Sundays and Tuesdays of normally...
You'd have to lead a run to ensure days that fit your schedule. A weekday Barrett run is smart, but I'm not currently set up for it. Maybe by summer.

Only problem is I've never ran Barrett before so not sure I could lead that run, Hell Hole I could do but also Slick Rock has changed since last time I was there...
