There is whole other club doing this run and they asked if we'd be up for it too. I'd expect others to go.

I LOVE pre-runs!!! But I won't be able to make it to this one. Too busy that weekend.

It would be great to get an idea of what the trail looks like before the next meeting so we can make the most of the maintenance run.

I'm out too. Good luck! I've been hearing rumors of a low snow level out of the storm this week. I'll be curious to see how far you get!

What are the details as far as meeting time and location go? I just talked with Chuck and he and a friend may be interested in going.

The usual, Fresh Pond Chevron? 9am?

I don't know the Who, What, Where, When about the other club.

I think it should be a "meet on the trail" run becuase I have only communicated with the other club's president via e-mail.

My going depends on the status of my homework. If I can go, it will be in the yellow jeep becuase the black one currently has no lockers...

I will bet that you won't get even get close to the trail head at the Posse sign due to the depth of snow and how soft it will be from the warming whether.

Web cam at Sierra Pines a few miles above Strawberry and about the same elevation as the strawberry trail..Looks to me like there is still 6 plus feet up there

My thoughts exactly. Here's the Sciots Web Cam. Little lower, but looks like 2+ feet:

On 4/12 Eldorado National Forest extended the seasonal closure to 4/30. As of right now the trail should be open on 5/1, but I wouldn't be surprised if they extend it again.

Here's a link to the ENF website with the notification - http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/eldorado/

Looks like this run is going to have to be called off. From Fred's link:

Eldorado National Forest Dirt Roads and Trails Remain Closed to Motorized Vehicles Until May 14

Also looks like they picked up some additional snow!

I will let you know how the snow is. Me and a bunch of guys are going up to do trail maintenance on Fordyce on the 8th..Our plan is to get to the first water crossing even if there is snow....

Have fun. Remember that time we had to wait for an hour while that full sized tried to make it up that hill?

Fordyce is in the Tahoe National Forest. As far as I know, they haven't figured out their closures yet.
