The chain saw certification person with the ElDorado Forest Service is looking at putting on some saw certification courses starting around the first of the year. Let me know if you might be interested so I can Let Kyle know and schedule the times. The saw certification will be the same as the others. Two days, one in the classroom and one in the field. Also, a first Aid/CPR card is required but people can still take the course, they just won’t get the saw cert card until they complete the first aid.

Kyle Johnson from the Forest Service is going to try and organize a first aid class so no one has to search for a class and pay out of their own pocket. Let me know if you would be interested in only the First Aid Class so I can let Kyle know about the interest in just that. Or both…….

If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

I'm interested and have my CPR card, but January is packed for me.

Do I need to provide my own saw?

Um...what?

It should say on the first aid card the renewal date.

Greg I'll ask Kyle about the saw. We brought ours but used a forest service saw.

I'm interested in the chainsaw course. I'm sure I'll be available. I guess I'll have to ask about CPR certs, but I would think I'd be OK in that respect. Of course, that is, if it's open to prospects...

Gil, Jason, Working with Kyle Johnson from Forest Service to set up a "free" CPR/First aid cert class. I'll post as soon as he gives me a date.

Justin, The Chain Saw class is open to anyone, We just need to let Kyle know the head count, and you can attend the CPR/First aid class also.

If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

From Kyle:
"Hello all. I’m looking at a date in February for the saw cert class. Let me know how that works for everyone and then I’ll check with Marc the instructor and we will widdle it down to a specific date."

So if you guys could let me know what dates you have available in February so I can pass them on to Kyle.

If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

I think a W/E would be good or like a Friday, Saturday would be best. But February is good for me.

Per Kyle he is shooting for Feb. 21st and 22nd as the weekend for the saw class. Let me know if that works for most.

If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

Hey everyone, This is David: Just curious, what actually is a chainsaw certification course? I've been using one for years. Is this a lifetime certification? If anyone can give me some more information, I'd appreciate it!

This Cert is so that one can cut on the trails with the club. It is good I think for 3 years

The latest from Kyle:
"looks like the saw class for new certs is now a mandatory 3 days, two in the classroom and one in the field. The days will be a Fri., Sat., and Sun. For recert, Marc is almost sure you only have to attend the field class, but he’ll confirm. Marc is working on a firm date for the first aid class and as soon as he gets a firm date I’ll let you know, but it will be before the saw class."
During the Club meeting Kyle said that the Feb. class date they were looking at may change. As soon as he locks in a date I'll get it posted here. Also Kyle is planning on a first aid class at the same time so we don't have to go out and try and find one and also we'll not have to "pay" for it.

If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

From Kyle:
"Hello all. It looks like Feb. 20-22nd will be the saw cert course and the first aid/CPR class Feb. 6 or 7th. I’m guessing the 7th would be the best date since it is a Saturday. For those who just need a recert, I’ll check on what is required. Also, if I can let me know who need first aid and CPR."

With This being a three day class, Let me know those who still want to attend, I'll pass the list on to Kyle.

If three days is to long let me know. If we can get enough people saying that the three days are to much maybe Kyle can get it reduced down.

Please let me know ASAP

The First Aid class is most likely scheduled for Feb 6th. I need a count for that to please.

If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

Who wouldn't say 3 days is to much if they will condense it down?

That's the idea, if I get enough people saying that they can't do the three days and tell Kyle that then he would have leverage to get it possibly condensed to two. When Brad and I took it it was a one day class. I think that was enough, but the guy teaching wants three days.

If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

I can't do 3 days. Not really worth it to me. I'd just rely on the people that already have their cents for the class.

Um...what?

Ok here is the latest from Kyle:
"Hello All. OK, here is the plan for the Saw Cert course. It will be Saturday, Feb. 21st and Sunday Feb. 22nd. The class will be only two days not three, but they will be long days. In addition, we will be offering a first aid class Feb. 6th. The first aid class can only accommodate 10 students so we will offer additional classes shortly. You don’t need first aid to take the course, you just won’t get your card until you finish a first aid class. Also, we need to limit the saw cert class to 25 max. Marc said we can possibly put on an additional saw cert course in April if needed."

Please confirm that you will attend the First aid class on Friday feb 6th. Right now there are only 4 spots left so need to know ASAP to get you in. Gil, Jason, Hytenor? I will put you three down, but please confirm your going. I'll get class times from Kyle as soon as I can.

If you will plan to attend the saw class let me know for sure and I'll get you on that list.

If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.
