I have plenty of vacation and am planning to run both trails in day trips this year (not combined this year). These runs are done on week days because of traffic on both trails during the weekend.
If anyone has interest or preference of doing a day run please let me know and we can coordinate a date, which I will then put on the calendar. For these trips, smaller groups are preferred since a consistent pace is important. Vehicle requirements can be discussed based on the trail selected. There are lots of people doing camping on the Rubicon, so this post is for the day trips.

Day runs are all the way through for me.
If you'd like me to do a loop run with you (say to buck island and back), just toss some dates out. I'd be ok with something on the Rubicon. I am not interested in "in and outs" on Fordyce. You should see if you can legalize your rig to get from the top of Fordyce back to the staging area. Then we can run that trail!!!

I was told I couldn't run through Fordyce due to the water crossings being too high, or does that rule only apply to us with mere mortal Jeeps on 35" tires?
I'm definitely game for either, especially Rubicon, as I have only been to Rubi. Springs and back on my own. Ideally a Mon, or tues. (wife is off work those days) is best, but can make any weekday work. Just let me know day. Depending on advance notice, I will take it off, or come down with sudden 24 hour flu.

I am hoping to be in my new buggy by the begining of July.

That would work Rob. I think Greg could do that too. What is the timeframe for the new project?

Completed my first day trip of the season. Took a newer wheeler and his JKU on 35's across. Easy pace and a fun day. I already have a second day planned on the 12th. This will be a faster paced run because of a group we want to catch.
Let me know the fordyce date range Rob when you have everything ready.
I know others spoke up at the meeting as well interested in a day trip. So let me know!

Any interest in doing a weekday Rubicon run the 3rd or 4th week of August?

Myself, Jack and his wife Ruth and Brad did a day run across the Rubicon today. Brad led the adventure and did a great job. We were on the trail by 9:00 a.m. and off a little after 3:00 p.m. We started at Loon Lake and ended on the Tahoe side. We met some road maintenance crews and two rigs towards the Tahoe side. The trail was clear. The weather was perfect other than the smoke in the air. It was an awesome day with some great people. Thanks for leading it Brad. Much appreciated!

One of the greatest runs I have done. I did not believe we could run it under 6 hours but now I am a believer. Total time was 5:40 with a couple small breaks. Thanks Brad for a great run and always good wheeling with Josh.
