I am running up to Snake Lake this Saturday and will also probably run Gold Lake and Deer Lake as they are all right next to each other. We can meet at Downieville at noon on 10/1 or Grass Valley at 11a. I will be heading through both locations at the times mentioned. I am considering camping on Gold Lake on 4x4 trail as nobody uses these remote spots and several are on the bank of Gold Lake.

Let me know if you are interested.

Huck

This run would be quite a drive for a day run from Sacramento.

You should give the signal peak trail a shot for a day run.

Also, talk to Tom who also owns an XJ that is open. He did quite well at our "clinic" this past weekend.

Here is a link with some info about the area. I think if you are open you can probably do Deer Lake and Gold Lake with out issue, I think you will be pulling cable (winch) alot on Snake Lake.

Great link! I didn't even know the trail existed. It looks like a fun family run.
