So who is planning on doing the Dusy run this year with the cost of fuel where it is now?

I do not see myself doing the run. That run takes about 4 to 5 tanks of fuel. The trip would cost me 3 to 400 in fuel 😯

I'm sure there will be people going. It's a great trail, the most beautiful one we have. It's a long, mostly easy (a few tougher spots) trail that most of our rigs can handle. I'd encourage anyone to go on this run if they haven't went before.

With that said, I will not be going this year. I've been on it 6 or 7 times (I loose track/getting old) so I've seen everything. With gas prices the way they are, I need to save the money for some other runs I wan to do.

I do hope people will go on this run, it's worth it if you haven't done it before. Beautiful scenery, easy to moderate wheeling, nice camping spots, a lot of good fishing, and just enough obstacles to keep it interesting.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

Well said John. That sums the trail up well. I'd love to go, but I'm not sure I can make it. I've got some big financial committments coming up in the next few months.

I was planning on going, and taking my parents. But I was just going to go in the back side up to Lake Camp Lake and camp a couple of days and wait for everyone else to come out on that end. Besides Triple trail, this is going to be my only big trip of the year.

I'd like to go and am working towards making it happen. I think it will be a great trip!

I'll mow lawns for $10 per lawn plus fuel cost; that'll put the bottom line number at around $40 per lawn.

I Believe Earl is planning to go, as well as Lee.

I am a maybe. If the fordyce winch hill trip is cancelled, I'm 100% for Dusy.

Is the Sierra Trek winch hill in danger of not happening?

I haven't heard anything, but I would assume that if they close the forest again, they will cancel the run. That's just a guess, I haven't heard anything. I'm not starting a rumor. I know nothing. 😀 We were up outside of Downieville today and it is already getting dry!

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't starting rumors. I really hope they have a back up plan. Anyone that is surprised when they close the forest this year has been living under a rock.

I may head up there the week of July 21st...don't know yet...either that or Swamp Lk and take more time than last year so I can fish all the lakes 😀

My dad and I are heading to Coyote Lk on the 16th, camping over night and then heading to Mirror Lk for another night. Then we head to Edison Lk to meet another friend at the resort to hang out for a couple days.

anyone is welcome to join us 😉

Between the smoke and gas prices, this hasn't been a real great summer for wheeling or being out doors. 🙁

I'd still like to go, but I may try and stay closer to home. I will be camping/wheeling that weekend.

it sucks being hot, but not having water in the lake and not being able to go out and swim.

Ya, it's a bad wheeling year for the Posse. It looks like the Triple Trail and the Dusy are going to be very low turnout runs.
