I thought I would set up an event to assist Mike Gallagher and his Family. I'm doing this on the Trail Runs/Events page so we can post information such as Mikes phone number and address without it appearing on a public page. Mike's family could use some assistance with meals due to their situation with Shaina. A little help will go a long way. So that we don't overwhelm them with food, perhaps we can use this thread to provide coordinated, regular assistance for the Gallagher family. I'm planning to run to Costco this afternoon to get some food to get this started ASAP. Tomorrow Kathy will be making some meals that can be frozen and then defrosted and prepared. Jeff Sharkey also is planning to help out this weekend so what we need is more of a longer term plan.

If we can coordinate some entrees and side dishes that would be great. Some can be packaged as single plate meals or smaller portions for his two parents (disabled father and mother-in-law who don't cook) while others can be larger portions for the entire family. In addition to meal preparation, we will need a plan to get meals delivered in the future as needed.

Thank you guys I can't tell you how much it means to me and my family that I asked for help and you two jumped right in and helped. It is very hard for me to ask for help I have been on my own since a young age and have always relied on myself for everything and now that I truly need help you don't hesitate to help.

Thank you thank you thank you

I would like to help, however I am not a great cook either.  I can purchase some frozen lasagnas or provide some financial support to someone willing to prepare the meals.

Um...what?

Kathy made a double batch of lasagna and froze it into smaller sections. I'm planning on delivering it today. Last Friday I dropped off three Costco rotisserie chickens (some of it can be frozen if desired), pasta and macaroni salad, and two bags of Costco tamales in addition to some other food. I believe Jeff Sharkey dropped off some enchiladas last week. I think they should be good for now. I will try to get a better plan in place in the future so we can evaluate and respond to their needs. If anyone wants to contribute financially, they can do so at the next meeting. It really doesn't take a lot of money to help, especially if we have several contributors. I think Kathy can fix a few extra meals each week and because we live close by, I can easily drop them off. I will touch bases with Mike to see what they need.

I'm in for helping out. I had an uprooted tree emergency (was leaning towards the house) to take care of this past weekend, so I did not have time to prepare any food. I will get something prepared soon.

We are in for something as well.  This is past your delivery date, but we will do something.  Let me get my thoughts together and we will be in touch.  I will PM you Jeff R.
