Ok, it's supposed to start raining here next week and "get cold". I guess that means we should begin our shift to the winter runs - and our Road patrols.
Is there interest in Road patrols this year? We were contacted to start picking dates and I will propose dates shortly that are centered around the end of January and mid-march.
Is there interest? Another big group outing with pop ups again?
What does everyone think?
I've added that the "Road Patrols" are all on Iron Mountain Rd, which runs from Pollack Pines over to hwy 88.

A road patrol is a mild snow run. We drive up a trail some distance. Find a large parking area for the group. Stop. Then count the vehicles that drive up the road. The count is given to the Forest Service for road metrics. We also help out anyone that gets stuck. Part of the group will usually explore up the trail a little further to look for people in need of help. Fun family event! Children can play in the snow! Build a snowman! Have a snowball fight etc.. It all makes for a great day!
