We arrived in the afternoon. We unloaded our Jeeps and hit the trails. We started off on North Jackhammer. We took an obstacle that layed us both on our sides but we were able to drive out of it. When Rob gets the pictures downloaded, I'll post them, they are cool. So, we ran up to the top of North Jack and back down with only one good "stuck." We still had a good ammount of daylight left so we thought we'd run Wrecking Ball since we were right by it. Wrecking Ball is not a hard trail until the last 100 yards. It's mostly just technical rock hopping trying to avoid all the diff hangers. We reached the last waterfall just before dark. I climbed right up with my front but my back slipped off. A few more tries and I decided to winch it. Rob was next...He gave it a few "scary" tries (that wall is straight up and down on the drivers side) but he wasn't having too much luck...and then we heard "POW" and all kinds of noises were coming from his Jeep. He broke an alloy outer, broke a hub, broke a motor mount, and destroyed his fan shroud when the motor moved. It took a long time but we got him winched over. Then we drove out. The last obstacle was fun. You had to ride a wheelie (both fronts in the air) to get over it. It slammed us both in the wall. Rob's poor Jeep...dented hood and his rear tub will never be the same
Oh ya...I dented my hood too 🙁 Not bad for the first day
We spent all day today fixing Rob's Jeep, including a trip to Superior Axle in Rancho Cucumunga, so we can go out tomorrow and do some more wheeling. I'll post some pics when I can.
