MET Snow Patrol #3

May be able to make this run.

This one is on the calendar. Can't wait to "chill" out with everyone. My buddy Keith is planning to do an initiation membership lunch. He will chime in soon.

Hi all! We will provide pulled pork sandwiches with Cole slaw of course! Going to get this last step of club initiation in….is there an award for longest prospect ever? LOL! We got the main dish, all that’s left is sides and drinks! See everyone there!

Awesome. Keith and Katina are bringing pulled pork sandwiches for their Member Cook-off which sounds amazing. And you know a bowl of chili should have beans in it. Only exception is when you put chili on a hot dog.

This is on my calendar / I plan to be there. I’ll bring dessert (probably some cookies).

and my sweet friend Romika, chili is not required to have beans! Kevin posted the sign that I should have on the back of my jeep!

we will absolutely be at the next snow run and looking forward to it.

it may not be a reward winning chili, but it will not have a bean in it. They will be on the side, where they belong.

That looks delicious!! But Travis!!!! You, being from Texas and all, know dem beans is a side! NOT required for chili to qualify as chili!!! 
I’m brining mine, it’s an old recipe, never won a ribbon, but it eats mighty nice!!!!

Scientific evidence that chili has beans:

Yessirie!  Side dish. Optional!!! Aka Pinto/Red bean you can add. Like a diced onion, jalapeños, Fritos, mac & cheese, and any other thing that you desire as a side dish to your big bowl of chili. Usually it’s cornbread too.

We may need to stay at base camp to eat all the food that'll be served! Is anyone bringing paper bowls & spoons?

Our son and daughter-in-law will be here visiting from Seattle so looks like I'm going to be 0 for 3 on the snow patrols this year. I probably didn't need to put my hardtop back on my Jeep last fall.

There is a rig stuck on 10N44 about a half mile from 11N46 so this run might include a rescue attempt. The guy got stuck right before the last storm so probably 2-3ft at his elevation. We already have permission from the forest service to try a recovery (10N44 is in winter closure), but the owner might try in the next day or two if people will help.

Kris, do you have a contact for someone to find out if it was recovered or not at the time we all head out on Sunday?

I’ll be there Sunday and can help with recovery if it’s still needed. We’ll have to take 10n44 from MET. 11n46 at 10n44 is beyond the washed out bridge where we made it when we took 11n46 from MET last trip.

Yep, we are cleared to be on 10N44 but could also approach from sand flat up 11N46 from 50.  I figure we can make a decision morning of depending on snow and how many bigger rigs we have.

Maybe bring the USFS door magnets so people don’t think we’re goofing off on a closed road?
