MET Snow Patrol #4 - Apr. 16, 2023

Sun. Apr. 16, 2023 8:30 am – 4:00 pm-ish Meeting at the Subway/Shell station in Pollock Pines off of Hwy 50 and Sly Park exit. Pollock Pines Subway/Shell Station 6529 Pony Express Trail Pollock Pines CA 95726 Meet at 8:30am for drivers' meeting and sign-in; we will leave at 9:00am. Will plan on having lunch around noon or so and start packing up around 2:00pm - 3:00pm depending when the afternoon wheelers get back. Dress for a day in the snow and cold. Please post below if you are attending. Other notes: This run is currently open if we have any pending members needing a BBQ so post up if you want to take this on. We will use the club's HAM PosseV2 frequency for communications, so bring your HAM radios. General things to remember to bring: -Tables -Chairs -Fire wood -Warm Beverages -Water (cold weather is very dehydrating) -Easy-up

Note that this one is after the winter closures are typically lifted so might just turn into a wheeling trip. But I like the positive thinking about more snow.

Currently snow at my place at 2k ft so looks like we might actually get another patrol in. Fingers crossed!

Ice wall at north south. Kris and the others headed back to met via another road but I went down to investigate the landslide on north south. Turns out the slide must have been cleared and I made it to 88.

Aired down where the road starts to zig zag upward getting close to 88 because the snow was starting to get deeper…half mile later and it was cleared/ plowed the rest of the way! Lol.
