Sorry about the short notice... After the meeting last night we got excited for a run and want to go do something...

We are planning on going for a Drive tomorrow to see if we can get to Hell Hole by way of Mosquito Ridge Road.  I called the El Dorado Forest Service line and they said that Mosquito Ridge Road is plowed and open to French Meadows and Hell Hole Reservoir. 

This is a very long and winding road.  It is approximately 56 miles to Hell Hole Reservoir from Auburn and will take 2 hours or so to get there based on Google Maps.  I am told it is a beautiful drive.  It is very likely that we will encounter some snow despite the forest service saying the road is open and plowed.  So I recommend you plan accordingly with recovery equipment etc. just as you would for a snow run.  If you have any questions on what to bring please let me know.  

Our plan is to have lunch at Hell Hole Reservoir and maybe hike down a little ways if it is not to difficult of conditions.  We will not be attempting the trail run down to the Reservoir.

Meet time: 8:30 am departing at 9:00 am

Lunch: is not provided so please bring what you intend on eating.  

I will be bringing our "New Fancy" portable Webber BBQ so if you want to throw something on the grill let me know.
