I was thinking it would be nice, especially given the great weather, to get a run in a day this coming weekend on November 10th or 11th. Can we put something together? Suggestions? Interested????

Edited: Signal Peak Run Sunday November 11th. Meet at the Nyack Shell Station 41965 Nyack Road, Emigrant Gap at 8:30 and leave at 9:00.

Requirements: Club minimum plus 33" or larger tires.

I'm interested in going on a run soon, but am very busy this month. I'm out for the 10th. The 11th is a maybe.

Jeff,

I think we could make a run this weekend.  How about a Signal Peak Run?  We have not done one this year as of yet?

We are open to other options as well.

Signal Peak sounds good to me. Let's see who else can make it and which day is best. I can make it either day. It would be nice to see you on the trail before you pull off your annual Christmas Party heist!!!!wink

Jeff,

We may join in on a Signal Peak run on Sunday if it's going to happen. Let's bring this up at the meeting tomorrow night & see what kind of participation/interest there is.

Looks like Sunday is a good day for the run. Yes, we can discuss it at the meeting and then post the final details.

Jeff,

We are good to go on Sunday!  I plan on attending the meeting tomorrow night as well.  As for the Christmas Party... There will be many happy people as we are not able to attend this year.angry Paula is joining me on the first part of a business trip I have planned for Hawaii.  So, this will give folks like you and others a huge opportunity to get all the good loot! party

I put this Signal Peak run on the calendar for Sunday November 11th. and I updated the first post in this thread with times and details. So far it looks like we have Guy and Lynda, Jeff (Paula?) Sharkey, Chris Campbell(?), and me. Please confirm if going so we know who to expect so that we don't leave Nyack without you if you are running a few minutes late.

They are calling for north winds tomorrow which should push the smoke to the south and to the west so hopefully the air quality will be okay. We didn't get smoke in Meadow Vista (between Auburn and Colfax) until the afternoon today. So I'm hoping we will have good air quality on the run tomorrow.

Well, we had a great day on the Signal Peak Run. We had nine or ten rigs on the run. I think we had five who were on their first run with the club. We had Patrick (70 Commando), Patrick's wife (sorry forgot your name) in their other rig, Chris Campbell in his Bronco with his adorable daughter, John (black TJ--we always need more TJ's on runs!), and Cody (I think I have his name correct) in his (JK?) and then Gil and Betty, Jeff and Paula, Guy and Lynda and Scott and Kathy and me. Anyone who was on the run please correct me if I made any errors on names and rigs. All went well. The trail was more challenging than it has been in the past according to a few who have run it several times before. The wind was blowing like crazy, especially on the peak. We ended up having lunch in one of the campgrounds on Fordyce Lake Road to get out of the strong winds. We were on the trail by 9:40 and off it by about 2:15 or so I think. Thanks to everyone who went and to those who helped with spotting and guiding others.

Thanks Jeff for organizing and leading this run. I missed being out on the trail with the club. Signal peak is always a fun run. Today was no exception the wind was strong but the air was clear. As always we had a great group who work well with each other. We were home by 4pm and now we’re watching football. What a great day I can’t wait for another.

Yes, thank you Jeff for this last minute run!!  What everyone said above is true here as well.  I miss being out with the club! The new people are fun and fit right in!  The trail was a bit more challenging for sure but still beautiful.  I got some great pictures I will post tomorrow.

I created an event under our Photo Gallery for the Signal Peak Run.   I apologize that some of the picture orientation is not correct but I was unable to determine how to rotate the pictures....

My favorite picture is the one of our trail leader Jeff pulling a Jeep up the hill... Amazing!!!!
