Rubicon Round-Up 2009

We will head up to Loon on Saturday to camp and run thru Tuesday.

I will be heading up Monday. I get off work at 0800 and will drive up immediately after that. I should be at the trail head between 10:30 and 11:30. I will be coming alone. If any one needs a ride let me know. Also where is everyone camping? Buck?

I really wish I could make it...but this wedding is messing up all my plans.

Brad, Dave, and I will be heading in Monday too. We're planning to leave from EDH Safeway at 7:30 and plan to stop in Georgetown to pick up to-go breakfast then heading to the Loon Lake trailhead. I suspect we'll be on the trail before you can get there. We'll be on cb channel 10. We'll see you at Buck Island Lake but if you have problems call out on the cb. Do you have a ham radio? There's a repeater up there and I plan to take my hand-held radio.

I'm off to Salinas. You guys have a great time and be safe. I expect a full report when you get back.

Larry left last night. I think he's camping up at Loon for a couple of nights.

Thanks Fred, I will try to get out of here asap. I will be on channle 10 and unfourunately I don't have a ham radio. I will see If I can catch up to you guys. If not I will see you at Buck. 🍺

Sounds good! Fred, I have limited space and wasn't planning to bring my redi-welder. Are you bringing yours? If so, do you need me to bring my hood and gloves?

I've got my welder packed along with a cheesy little handheld mask/shield. If you've got room for the hood that would be a lot better if we needed it. I only have regular work gloves packed.

I have a bunch of room if any one needs to put stuff on my Jeep.

Actually, I'm solo this trip and the packing is a whole lot different than when Teddi goes with me. I didn't pack any cooking gear. Instead I ordered a pizza so I plan to have left over pizza for dinner, breakfast, and possibly lunch. No cooking, no cleaning, and a lot less to pack!

Or just do like Brad and me...Bring something to eat, but end up bumming extra food off of everybody else 😂

I remember the Dusy trip. Brad and I didn't have to cook for three days 😏
