My Jeep is FINALLY trail worthy (minus the steering) and should pass the pre-run "inspection"
I'm ready for a "shake down run". I'm looking to go somewhere short and not intense to see how the Jeep works and get a feel for it.
If the Rubicon doesn't work for some Jamboree reason or because crowds are big, I could be talked into a Fordyce 1st River Run.
[edit] Looks like it's going to be a Fordyce First River Crossing Run.
I used to wheel a lot. . .

Thinking maybe a Rubicon Loop Run or Rubicon Run into Little Sluice and Back Out. Sunday July 30th, 2017. Let me know...

The Jeepers Jamboree is that weekend. July 28-30. I have also discovered that trying to into the Rubicon, even from loon, on a sunday is difficult. Most weekends have tons of people coming out causing traffic nightmares.

Haha i will be up in that area with my dad, uncle, and grandpa on Sunday. We are gonna hit up signal peak (harder side) and, if we get done early, we will come down the easy side and go do committee crossing.
We are planning on being at eagle lakes at 8am. Lunch on signal peak. At committee by 2pm.
We will be on the cisco grove 70cm repeater, and simplex 147.555 if anyone in your guys group has ham, we can keep in touch. I will probably be monitoring the georgetown and n6icw repeaters as well.
Have fun up there. Text me if you guys have any issues five five nine threehundred 0144

Getting the Jeep ready this morning before it gets too hot.
I'll see everyone at the Starbucks off the Forresthill exit @ 7am
Looks like flows have been steady @ 29.5cfs
It'll be nice to get away from this heat!

Home. It was a fun fast day. We went down to the first river crossing, hung out for a bit, and then drove back out. We were at the staging area eating lunch at Noon. I skipped Drive line Hill because I didn't want that to my first Jeep test. My Jeep worked great (except my steering). The steering wheel just keeps see-sawing back and forth over the rocks. That got real old after a while. Time to look into upgrading my steering. I'm very excited to be wheeling again. Thanks Kevin for tagging along.

It was cool running into you guys up there! John, sorry I didn't say hi as well... I didn't put 2 and 2 together haha... and my dad and uncle were waiting for me to lead them up the trail.
Glad the jeep worked well, it looked great at the staging area! You need some dings and scratches in it now 😉
