I want to know if anyone is interested in doing a two day run/camp out on these three trails. They are all next to each other north of Grassvalley. I have run Sierra Butte and Dear Lake in a stock Rubi, ( buddy did it in a sport) Snake Lake is rated similar to the Rubicon but very short <4 miles. There are awesome places to camp on the trails and scenery is great, so is the fishing.

I'm thinking in the summer depending upon snow fall. Let me know who would be interested.

Thanks,
Huck

I would definitely be interested. Always wanted to check them out, plus the fishing up there is good.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

Hey Huck,

How "stock" was the Rubicon? John's Black Pearl came stock with 33s and sliders...is that right?

Or stock like Kevin's as seen at the last meeting?

I am interested.

Thanks

I may be up for a fun/fishing trip. I'd need to work out dates because my calendar is getting busy...

Stock as in, factory rails (never used them) factory tires and the guy that went with me didn't have lockers.

My Jeep didn't come "stock" with the lift and tires, it was a dealer add-on.
It looked just like Kevin's when it rolled off the assembly line.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

More trails I've had my eye on for some time.

Started linking these trails together when I picked up "California Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails". Good write-ups in there. This sounds like FUN!!

The trip is well worth it! Most stock rigs can do any of those trails. I grew up in that area and spent many summers wheeling and fishing the lakes and streams up there. It is not a day trip, it takes about 2 or more hours to get to the trail head.
