Meeting at Fresh Pond at 08:00 leaving at 08:30.

Bring gloves and loppers, plus chainsaws, garbage bags, trimmers and clippers.
You can also show up, leave your car at Fresh Pond and grab an empty seat from someone going up.
We'll have waivers for non-club members to sign at Fresh Pond.

See ya there! rasta

Still on Oct. 9?

If so, I'm not on-call so count me in!

The waiver is a disclaimer that holds you responsible for your actions and not the club. It's pretty straighforward. Once you see one it will make sense to you.

Fresh pond is on hwy 50 about 18 miles east of placerville. The highway goes from 2 lanes, down to 1. When the highway opens up to two lanes again, there is a Chevron on the right. That is freshpond. The Strawberry pass trail is located off 50 at the 42 mileston bridge. Hope to see you there!

Sounds like a plan. Having not been on that trail before, will my open diff XJ have any difficulty?

Only one spot will require a strap if you run it uphill. If you come from the other side, you shouldn't have any problems.

Easy? See, another by-laws update! Maybe bump it up to the moderate category?

:hijack:

Actually, I like the idea of updating to make sure current trails listed are in the correct rating and including more local trails in each rating. Maybe a topic for the next meeting?

Strawberry has whooped me harder than any other trail out there. I'll have to dig out some pictures of the old Cruiser being towed off. 😥

I have to dig up that picture of Alex doing the wheel stand in his 4-Runner up the snow bank a few years back. 8)

I'll be there.

Justin, were you still thinking of bringing your trailer. Even if someone else needs to haul it on the trail. So we can use it for hauling rocks. would really like to fill in the two large holes on the bottom half of the trail.

OK, that being the case I may have as many as 2 open seats when we go up ... depending on whether or not my son wants to "work" on one of his days off.

I ran Strawberry two weeks ago and hopped right up and over V Rock with my little 33's and a limited slip rear end (Yoda's had been there stacking rocks). Tried it again last week right after a Saturday morning thunderstorm and slid right off the rocks; had to get the high-lift jack out to stack rocks under the tires... I ended up turning around with my tail between my tires.

You just never know about Strawberry
