Is there any interest in an exploration snow run on Packsaddlepass road and surrounding area? We can plan to depart from Fresh Pond Chevron at 9AM, and will cut off hwy 50 at 42 mile and explore as much as we can.
This will include the main road, likely our trail and the strawberry canyon trails as well. Progress permitting it is possible we could get to Long Canyon and run it in the downhill direction, but there are other options as well.
Requirements include those on the club page, PLUS the ability to air up/down. Recovery points front and rear are required, along with at least 1 recovery strap. This is lower risk snow wheeling and getting stuck is the most common outcome.
We will be running CBs for communication on this particular day.
Please post if plan to make it so I know to look for you.

Made it up on Strawberry to a downed tree & snow further up & turned around. We ended up on Met, went up to check out the upper end Kiosk, but ran into snow & turned around. Its another world, particularly on Met, never to be same in our lifetime. There were a lot of areas I didn't even recognize.
Incredible weather & areas we visited, look forward to doing this again in another month or so. Maybe we can make it all the way through Strawberry, maybe not.
Thanks Brad for a great day!

Thanks for going guys! 3 Jeeps, 4 people.
We ran up as far as we could on the Strawberry Pass Trail. Hit a tree and snow. We had saws and could have continued, but chose to explore other areas. We ran as far up the strawberry canyon Rd as we could, and then walked to the creek. It was a very pretty area. Then we drove out to head up pack saddle pass rd. We were going to stop at the strawberry bridge for lunch but found an abandoned and vandalized XJ. We will need to report this to Kyle so he can get it removed. We then drove up to a Cody creek campsite and ate lunch there. After words we decided to try and run over the pass on the main road. Once we got over the pass, we decided to run all the way to MET, which we did. After airing up, it was decided to split up and two jeeps were going to check out the existing trail kiosk, and I headed down MET. No issues and no problems on the run. The weather was perfect.
I will look into doing another snow run on Strawberry pass, to clear the tree and progress across in a couple weeks.
