This trip is to explore the old mines and ghost towns around Tonopah, Nevada.  All of the trails are listed 1-4/10 difficulty and 8-10/10 scenic.  I have not been on any of these trails  Description of vehicle requirements are high clearance required - 4WD preferred.  Most of these trail require 1 - 3 hours of driving time.  Daily driving time, not including lunch and exploring, is estimated at 5 - 6 hours depending on how many trails are done in any given day.  We would be based out the Hotel Mizpah in Tonopah although other hotels are in the area....I don't have any information about camping but that could be researched by folks if interested.

Tentative schedule:

April 18 - Drive to Tonopah.

April 19 - Warm Springs.  Reveille Mining District Trial, New Reveille Mine trail.

April 20 - Warm Springs.  Bellehelen Trail,  Silver Bow Ghost Town Trail.

April 21 - Goldfield.  Alkalai Springs to Silver Peak Trail, Montezuma Mountains Trail, Blair Ghost Town Trail, Nevada Eagle Mine.

April 22 - Goldfield.  Gold Point and Tokop Ghost Towns, Bonnie Claire Trail.

April 23 - Beatty.  Rhyolite - Bullford and Gold Bar Loop Trail, Beatty Wash Trail.

April 24 - Hwy 376.  Park Canyon Trail, Ophir Ghost Town Trail, Jefferson Ghost Town Trail.

April 25 - Hwy 95.  Columbus Ghost Town Trail, Candalaria Ghost Town and Belleville Town Site Trail, Marietta Wild Burros and Teels Marsh Trail.

April 26 - Drive Home.

This schedule is up for any changes folks in the group may want to make or if folks know of any other trails or areas they may want to explore.  I will be doing more research as to other areas to explore as well.

Please post if interested.

Thanks Jeff.  I am a go for this run, and put it on my calendar.  I will book my room in about 1 month.

Sounds good, Brad.  Another potential run would be Chloride City/Chloride Cliffs - an easy to moderate trail (OnX maps rates 4/10 difficulty, I rate it 10/10 scenic) that ends with a 5000 foot overlook of Death Valley, views are stunning.  The drive is about 1 3/4 hours from Tonopah to the trail head.

Since we have gas by the hotel, this run could work as well for one of the days!

I think it should be one of the runs to consider.  This run came to mind after my initial post when I was looking at maps and driving times.  We can also get gas in Beatty which is on the way and only about 20 miles from the trail head.
