This is our first road patrol - and David is requesting he host his member bbq that day.

I'll ask that he post details, but the rest of us would need to bring pot luck items.

Congrats to David!

How about an 830 meeting time at the pollock pines subway/gas station?

I was planning to be there but another guy left my team at work which shifted my on-call schedule up a week and I have a conflict. The good news is it freed up the weekend of the next road patrol for me.

I think we'll be there with the boys. Don't wait for us at the meeting point. We'll be late but we know where to look. Two runs for me in one month...this is starting to feel like the old days! 8)

Ronie and I are planning on being there with the "puppies". It'll be their first trip to the snow EVER!

Lori and I are planning on bringing BBQ beef and chicken to make Hot BBQ sandwiches and with chips along with potato & macaroni salad. Will bring my small BBQ to heat the meat & Buns. (No you can't sit on it to heat your personal buns)

If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

We will be there, entire family.

We will bring a dessert!

I will also bring my small grill to help.

According to this Forest Order, Green Stickers are allowed from 2nd Dam to Silverfork ONLY when snow covered, right?

Logan and I should be there!!! I can bring something hot to drink as it will still be hot when I drive the 2 miles to Subway lol

Might have a couple other jeeps tagging along from the schools up here. Won't know until Tuesday when we head back to school if either can make it. They both asked about joining in on runs when they saw pics from the Rubicon. Will let you know by Wednesday for head counts...

Glad to finally have weekends free again!!!!

Did we have a fire pit last time? Being in a topless and doorless buggy it might be nice to have a fire. Is it best to bring a fire pit?

Um...what?

Link to previous descriptions of what a Snow Patrol is (I asked once 😀 )

Last year we had pitted at SilverFork. Does that remain the target all the time? Or adjust on conditions or other? I was just curious as I've come to understand that MET portion b/t SilverFork and 88 is closed to 4x4 vehicles; ONLY open to green sticker tracked vehicles.

In general you want to set up where people will pass you for the vehicle count. If you're up too high you don't get much of a vehicle count. We usually try to find a snow play location for the kids and set up there.

The lower the better in my mind. Keep the usage counts up (but accurate) so the FS recognizes the usage. I always like to park at the first steep/snowy hill to watch all the minivans get stuck.
